The main component of my capstone final project was creating an auto narrative documentary of what it meant to be a Campus Coalition Concerning Chester (C4) leader, how I came into that position and what it entailed. I also wanted to take into account the lack of coincidence in that my co-leader was from Portland, Oregon like I am. The fact that we grew up in the same place, went to the same school, and we’re involved in the same project says a lot about the similarities between our upbringings and passions.
I also want to point out that I did not interview Chester residents due to how busy community organizing can be and therefore recorded important comments and speeches to make up for the lack of their incredibly important voices.
In this video I demonstrate the connections between campus organizing, race and class, privilege, relationships, political processes, and racism.
